Start planning your Black Friday deals now


Black Friday is about a month away (I know!) and you need to be prepared. Prepare your offer now.

Here’s what to do…

The most successful ads during this time will highlight irresistible offers. This does not mean 10% off or free shipping. These “offers” don’t solve the problem. People will be looking for deals.

This does not mean your offer needs to be discounted. This might be something new, different, and exciting that you’ve never done before. That’s my plan (stay tuned!).

In most cases, what you can’t do is continue what you’ve been doing all year. Your ad will fade into the background.

Start planning what that offer is. Plan a launch strategy, which may involve building interest and anticipation a week or more in advance.

You can even choose to promote your deals a week or two before Black Friday. I’ve done this in the past and it helped keep the noise at bay. I ran a sale the week before Black Friday and it worked great.

This early approach may be more effective if you have a multi-pronged strategy that includes email. Otherwise, if you wait until Black Friday, your emails and ads may get buried among all the other offers.
