META announces thread launches supply ad placement


Finally happened: Advertisements on threads. After months of speculation, we no longer speculate.

In the April 23 announcement, Meta formalized it.

In January, Meta started testing among a small number of advertisers and users. Therefore, there are no more isolated tests. This is fully launched.

So the new location will be called a “thread” feed, and when you manually edit the location you will be able to find it with other feeds. For its value, there is no thread feed in any account I checked last time.

These ads will be delivered in certain markets upon launch and will be promoted to others as we continue to test and learn.

Although Meta announced a full global promotion, more intentions are to launch it in full swing. In other words, this will be slow.

What to expect

If you are a user, you may not have seen ads. But you will. Users will be weird (they are always weird), but they will get used to it. They will eventually see more ads over time.

If you are an advertiser, you expect this location to have a very little impression from the beginning. Despite the rapid growth of threads and more than 300 million users, Meta’s other applications dwarf it. Therefore, the potential inventory is not large. However, any additional inventory can help reduce costs.
