Media features for translating video ads
What is translation media? This sounds familiar, as it’s similar to another test feature we’ve seen this year. However, this can be very helpful for people who attract more languages to speak.
Let’s take a closer look…
What’s this?
In your ad settings, click Advantage+Creative.
After clicking, you should view a checkbox to test for new enhancements.
If checked, the possible enhancements that can be tested on your account should be listed below (I have 9 now).
In the past, I’ve covered most of these features. One new thing is the translation media.
Now, don’t confuse it with Translate Voiceover, which is the feature I covered in May. But the feature is included in the translation media.
Meta describes this:
We will translate your voiceover, add subtitles and create text overlays to help people better understand your ads.
Suppose you created a video ad with English audio in English. With this testing feature, Meta can use AI to translate dubbing audio, add subtitles and create text overlays for Spanish-speaking people.
This should only work for video ads (it doesn’t make sense if other format types are available).
In the description of this feature in Ad Settings, you can select a live ad to view it before and after the enhancement is applied.
For whatever reason, I currently don’t see any difference between the two versions. This may be a mistake, but I may not have video ads, which is ideal for this enhancement.
