Astra Security raises $2.7 million to revolutionize cybersecurity, powered by AI

Astra Security, a cutting-edge cybersecurity SaaS company, announced the successful closing of a $2.7 million growth capital round led by emerging companies, with participation from Neon Fund, Better Capital, Blume Ventures and Pointone Capital. New capital will accelerate Astra Security’s mission of redefining penetration testing (Spicky) with AI-powered solutions, helping businesses ahead of evolving cyber threats.
AI-driven security for modern digital landscapes
Astra Security is using its AI-powered pentagonal platform to transform the cybersecurity industry, which mimics hacking to identify vulnerabilities at an unprecedented scale. More than 800 engineering teams across more than 70 countries rely on Astra Security’s technology to protect their applications, infrastructure, and APIs from cyber threats.
Last year alone, the company discovered nearly 5,500 vulnerabilities a day. As AI enables faster code deployments, the attack surface of cybercriminals continues to expand. Astra Security expects its platform to triple its vulnerability detection capabilities by the end of this year.
“Through AI-based attacks, the cybercrime landscape has become increasingly complex.” explain Shikhil Sharma, co-founder and CEO of Astra Security. “In today’s threat environment, traditional cyclical indoctrination is no longer enough, and Astra’s security is keeping more businesses quagmire to stay ahead of the curve. The engineering community has become agile, collaborative and automation-driven , but the cybersecurity industry is lagging behind. Our mission is to integrate AI, adopt a hacker mindset and make technology easy and accessible. “
Continuous filling to the safety team
Astra Security’s platform operates at the intersection of offensive security and automation, providing a comprehensive solution that includes Penetration Testing as a Service (PTAAS), DAST Vulnerability Scanners and API Security Platform. These tools can unveil more than 13,000 vulnerabilities, ensuring businesses remain secure while reducing manual efforts.
“Security is increasingly shifting to developers’ hands, and the security team finds themselves more overwhelmed than ever.” explain Ananda Krishna, co-founder and chief technology officer of Astra Security. “While Pentecost has been around for over a decade, they are underdubbed and have AI-first updates – simplifying and simplifying the process. We focus on eliminating the frustration of ongoing security monitoring so that businesses can continue to use everything else.”
From hackers to cybersecurity innovators
Astra Security’s foundation is deeply rooted in offensive security. Founders Shikhil Sharma and Ananda Krishna have spent more than a decade identifying vulnerabilities in global tech giants such as Microsoft, Adobe, AT&T, Yahoo and Blackberry. Their expertise led to the creation of Astra Security in 2018 and had a vision to modernize the smudges by leveraging AI and automation.
Growing customer base and industry recognition
The impact of Astra Security is already obvious in medium and large enterprises. More than 25% of customers include Loom, Hackerrank, ITC, OLX Autos, Mamaearth, Muthoot Finance, Bonusly, Singapore Trade Exchange, Oscilar, Cambridge University of Cambridge, C well-known organizations such as omptia and Prime Healthcare. The company’s rapid adoption among leading brands demonstrates its effectiveness in providing fast, actionable security insights.
Solve the complexity of modern network security
As modern cloud infrastructure becomes increasingly complex, including APIs, integrations, and multi-AI models, organizations face increasing security challenges. Astra Security is designed to be the sole source of security trust, ensuring that businesses can join onboard vendors without compromising security, integrate APIs and expand their digital footprint.
With the AI-powered quagmire, enterprises can move from Devops to the left to DevSecops, seamlessly integrating security into their development workflows. Astra Security’s CI/CD integration enables engineering and security teams to remediate vulnerabilities in record time, minimizing risks and potential financial losses.
In 2023 alone, Astra Security identified and helped remediate more than 2 million vulnerabilities, for customers that it estimated that it would result in an estimated $69 million in potential losses due to security breaches.
What’s next for Astra security?
The newly acquired funding will allow Astra Security to further enhance its AI capabilities, extend its detection capabilities into cloud environments, and continue to simplify security for developers and security engineers. With the complexity of cyber threats, Astra Security remains committed to keeping attackers ahead and ensuring businesses are protected.
