FreeBeat Review: The Easiest Way to Make Viral Music Videos

Did you know that a large portion of human communication (55%) is nonverbal? This includes what we see in body language and facial expressions.

This means that when you share a post, song, or message online, people are more connected to the viewer than what they see more. But here’s the truth: Not everyone has the time, tools, or knowledge to turn their ideas into scrolling videos.

That’s where FreeBeat came in.

FreeBeat is a shortcut for you to convert any song or text into a dynamic match match video. The best part? No editing experience required.

In this FreeBeat review, I’m going to discuss the pros and cons, what are the best people, and their main features. I’ll then show you how to use FreeBeat to write the song “Flowers” clip for Miley Cyrus.

I will end the post by comparing FreeBeat to my top three (Riffusion, Udio and Soundraw). Finally, you will know if FreeBeat is right for you!

judgment

FreeBeat is a fun and simple tool to turn music or text into a fight-match video. It is perfect for all skill levels. However, the slow pace of free planning, additional editing costs and limited customization can thwart those who need more control.

Pros and cons

  • Work for all skill levels using a simple interface.
  • AI will automatically turn music, text or images into video.
  • Easily use music from Spotify, YouTube, Tiktok and more.
  • The visual effects will automatically match the rhythm of the music.
  • Edit individual clip prompts and regeneration.
  • Using FreeBeat on a smartphone or tablet can be difficult.
  • Limited customization may make power users feel restricted.
  • Before publication, there is no sandbox to test.
  • Video generation takes a long time to plan for free.
  • The cost of regenerating a single clip is additional credit.
  • You can tell us that the clips are generated using AI.

What is freebeat?

FreeBeat is an AI tool that turns music into visual effects, including lyrics videos, dance videos, and more. It automatically syncs music with animations and scenes to create engaging social media or streaming content.

With the latest upgrade of FreeBeat (FreeBeat.ai 3.0), AI tools not only expand music to video tools. Now it provides text, image and effect-driven video generation. This means you can easily turn almost everything (scripts, photos, and music tracks) into engaging videos.

The platform supports music from almost every place: Spotify, SoundCloud, YouTube, Suno, Tiktok, you can name it. Otherwise, you can upload your own files.

If you are a content creator trying to build a social media presence, you can create everything from Tiktoks to YouTube videos. But I’m not saying FreeBeat is perfect. The clips it generates may look distorted, so if the first result is not quite right, you may need to regenerate.

How to use FreeBeat

Here is how I use FreeBeat to generate music videos:

  1. Start making free videos
  2. Delete the music link
  3. Select a part of the song
  4. Select what you want to create
  5. Add background ideas and generate
  6. View music video
  7. Regenerate the clip and download the video

Step 1: Start Free Video

choose "Make free videos" On the FreeBeat homepage.

I first go to freebeat.ai and select “Make Free Video” in the upper right corner.

Step 2: Delete the music link

Paste the music link into FreeBeat.

The first step is to paste the music link. This link can be from any of the following platforms:

  • Youtube
  • Spotify
  • udio
  • Tiktok
  • Soundcloud
  • Stable audio
  • resurrection
  • Suno

Step 3: Select a part of the song

Select a portion of the uploaded song to freebeat and sample it.

I pasted a YouTube link from Miley Cyrus. From there, I dragged the selection to a portion of the song I wanted (between 15 and 30 seconds) and then sampled it by clicking the play button. I chose the first part of the chorus.

Step 4: Select what to create

Create music videos with FreeBeat.

Next, I have to select what I want to create next:

  • Music Video: Turning My Music into Art
  • Dance Video: Use characters to make my music dance
  • Lyrics Video: Bringing lyrics to life

I decided to select the “Music Video” option.

Step 5: Add background ideas and generate

Add a background idea and generate a video with FreeBeat.

Selecting “Music Video” opens a new window where I can:

  • Select my model (fast or custom)
  • Describe what I want to see in the background
  • Select aspect ratio (16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 9:16)
  • Select resolution (720p)
  • Delete the watermark (only based on paid plan)

I left everything in default and added a background idea that I felt fitting myself with the theme of the song. I called “Generate” and it consumed 30 credits.

Generate videos using FreeBeat.

Immediately, FreeBeat started generating my videos. But, honestly, this generation took longer than expected.

FreeBeat keeps me in line with my previous 12 projects. The only way to get faster generations is to upgrade my account.

Step 6: View the music video

After a while, I received a FreeBeat email telling me that my video was successfully generated! I selected it from the music video.

Step 7: Regenerate the clip and download the video

Regenerate a clip on FreeBeat.

After selecting the video, I browse each clip. I have two choices:

  1. If I’m happy with the video, I can download it.
  2. If I’m not happy with some edits, I can regenerate them. Regenerating a clip took three credits.

Queue to regenerate with freebeat's clip.

One of the clips in my videos wasn’t suitable, so I called “Regeneration”. I was disappointed to see that the regeneration editing put me in trouble and it took a while.

Here is how my music videos are generated with FreeBeat:

FreeBeat does a great job of generating edits, keeping it in line with the essence of the song and synchronizing well with the beat of the music.

However, these clips are a bit distorted and are obviously generated by ai. If you are not satisfied with the results of a single clip, you can edit the prompts and reproduce the clip at any time.

Overall, FreeBeat makes turning songs into custom music videos fun and easy. However, the long wait and the need to fix the editing makes the process slower than expected.

The top 3 FreeBeat alternatives

This is the best free alternative I suggest.

resurrection

Revival Home Page.

The first free alternative I suggest is improvisation. Riffusion is an AI music generator that allows you to create complete songs instantly with text prompts. Simply describe the sound, mood, or genre you want to produce original music in real time. You can even customize your instrument.

On the one hand, Riffusion stands out with real-time text-to-music generation, advanced customization, and the ability to mix or modify output instantly. Over time, this is AI learning your music preferences, and even has STEM separation to isolate the instruments in professional workflows.

Meanwhile, FreeBeat specializes in converting your music, scripts or text into music videos, lyrics visuals and dance clips for your beat companions. You can even create branded video content for social media and marketing.

For customizable AI music generation and experimentation, select Redefine. For fast, professional music video creation and branded content, choose FreeBeat!

udio

The next freebeat alternative I suggest is Udio. Udio is an AI music generator that creates custom studio quality songs from simple text prompts. It covers everything from instruments to full tracks with vocals and even custom cover art.

Udio stands out for its editing capabilities. You can expand, mix and draw tracks. This means you can adjust specific parts of the song without changing the rest. Udio also allows you to export individual stems for professional DAW, and its AI can generate matching cover art for your music.

Meanwhile, FreeBeat focuses on transforming music into visuals, lyrics and dance videos with branded content.

For precise control of music power generation, advanced editing and professional audio export, select Udio. For quick video content for synchronized music, select FreeBeat!

Soundraw

The ultimate free alternative I recommend is Soundraw. SoundRaw is an AI music generator that creates unique, unfranchise tracks by choosing the mood, type and length you want. Its user-friendly interface allows beginners to quickly generate music. You can further customize the track by adjusting the song structure, strength, and instrumentation.

Soundraw stands out with its custom features as well as a variety of genres and emotions. You can micro-adjust the music and instruments, rearrange elements like song festivals, and personalize the music to fit perfectly into your project. Soundraw also guarantees that all tracks are royalty-free and original, which solves the copyright issue for commercial use.

Meanwhile, FreeBeat is valued for its ability to effectively generate compelling branded music videos.

To create customizable royalty-free music tracks, select Soundraw. To quickly generate music and social media or marketing video content, choose FreeBeat!

FreeBeat Review: The right tool for you?

FreeBeat makes me feel so much fun and relaxed, turning the song into a vibrant, beat-up video. It automatically processes everything from generating clips that fit the theme to syncing them to the rhythm of the song.

However, the long waiting time of the free plan and the need to spend extra credits to fix bad editing has slowed me down. Plus, the generated clips are often distorted, and you can say they are made of AI.

Although the overall results are impressive, they sometimes feel rough around the edges. This is the best for quick lightweight projects compared to exquisite high-end productions.

For an easy, beginner-friendly way to visually bring your music or script to life, FreeBeat is worth a try. However, if you need in-depth customization, faster speeds, or professional controls, you may feel a little packaged.

If you’re curious about the best FreeBeat alternatives, here’s what I suggest:

  • The upcoming musicians and creators are best suited for those who want instant, customizable AI-generated music and mix and STEM separation.
  • Udio is best for those who want precise song editing, quality exporting and AI-generated cover art.
  • Soundraw is best suited for creators who need no version of royal music to control emotions, intensity and instruments.
