BBC uses AI to resurrect Agatha Christie as your personal writing coach

BBC Studios and Agatha Christie Estate just stood out from a mysterious novel: They brought legendary crime writers Back to life Use AI.
Writers can now directly from The best-selling author of all time Not through textbooks, but through Christie seems to be teaching, speaking and coaching A-enhanced video courses.

Reality check
Christie died in 1976. Her appearance and sound in the course are digital reconstructions – a fusion of performance, AI and historical materials. The course is not for writing; these words come directly from her recorded thoughts about writing.
Behind the scenes:
- Without Keene’s performance, AI would not be able to fully function, and Keene’s performance matches Christie’s characteristics.
- Keane studied the rare Christie’s lens to replicate her subtle mannerisms.
- The voice is “re-talked” to combine Keane’s rhythm with the tone of real Christie.
This move emerges in the fear of AI in the creative industry. James Prichard, great-grandson of Christie and CEO of Agatha Christie Ltd., acknowledged the risks: “If I said don’t worry, I’d lie…but this is not written by AI. It’s a faithful restoration of her insights, conveyed in a way that can attract more people.”
Legacy meets innovation
BBC Studios positioned it as a model of ethical AI. Brand and Licensing Director Nicki Sheard said he was representing “Meaningful Innovation” This respects the legacy when using technology to inspire new storytellers.
Whether you are a fan Hercule Poirot Or the twists and turns of the new writer chases the plot, the Queen of Crime is ready to guide. Thanks to cutting-edge technology and extensive archival mining.
The course is Available via BBC Maestro A paid educational streaming platform.
