Transformation of internal management traffic

I did an ad campaign and produced some amazing results.

  • Amount of expenditure: $14.54
  • Purchase: 29
  • Cost per purchase: $.50
  • Conversion Value: Over $13,000
  • Rewards for advertising expenditure: over 900

Sounds crazy, right? Yes, yes. Because it’s fake. This is what happened…

explain

Even though I wanted to praise these results, I immediately knew what was going on. The activity is underway when I update my purchase confirmation page. Many of them.

Because I am a regular visitor to my own website, I showed me my ads. And, since my ad is shown to me, every time I load a confirmation page, it launches my purchase activity and attributes the conversion to my ad.

While this example of swelling results is easy to spot, it is not always so obvious. If your results are unexplained, it is usually due to internally managed traffic. If it’s not you, it’s probably someone on your team.

You may see your own ads. It doesn’t matter if they don’t click. If you load the confirmation page on the same day, the conversion will be attributed to your view.

Your job

This is not a meta cheat. This is due to the way it should be, but a strange situation will discard the result.

It is your job to prevent or detect it.
