Building climate solutions with urban communities – Earth’s state

As climate change accelerates, cities are on the frontlines in experiencing their impacts and producing solutions. Sheila Foster is committed to ensuring that urban climate adaptation strategies are not only effective, but fair. Her research focuses on environmental and climate justice, focusing on creating solutions with frontline communities.
“People who often live in these communities are already working on solutions,” said Foster, a professor at Columbia Climate School. “What they need is the tools of law, policy and agency that can work with the government to expand these solutions.”
