6 Essential and Free Ways to Stay on Top of Meta Advertising Trends

Meta advertising changes so quickly. The biggest concern for advertisers is not being able to stay on top of changes so they can continue to use the most effective features and strategies. You can’t fall behind.
Do you think I’m exaggerating? Think about what Facebook advertising looked like pre-2021 (pre-Meta). The iOS 14 changes haven’t taken effect yet. There is no Advantage+ shopping event. Audience expansion is not an issue at all. advertise – and effective methods ——Completely different.
Since I started posting content on these pages in 2011, my goal has been to fill an important need (I saw something!). Cutting through the nonsense to provide you with news, updates, tutorials and case studies to empower you to become a premium advertiser.
The problem (if you can call it one) is that the amount of content I create comes at a very high rate. Over 1,000 blog posts, 1,000 videos, and 500 podcast episodes. The information is there, but it’s easy to fall behind.
The best way to control all this information is through email alerts. After 13 years of hard work, I believe I finally got it right.
Not everyone has the same needs. Some of us like blog posts, while others like videos or podcasts. I can’t assume to know what you want.
So I’ve got a completely different breakdown of how I’ll notify you in 2025. Everything is completely transparent—you know what you receive and how often. Adjusting alerts is also very easy.
Get the updates you want, when you want them. It’s your choice…
1. Blog reminder
Frequency: 1 time per week
This blog is where it all started many years ago. It’s the medium I’m most comfortable with and how I quickly became known. If you search for anything related to meta advertising, you will undoubtedly stumble across my content.
There is no bullshit in my blog posts. In fact, this post is the most “useless” post you’ll find on my blog. Otherwise, there are countless articles that teach and clarify everything you need to know in the simplest way possible.
I have established a routine over the past few years. With rare exceptions, I publish one blog post per week. These usually go live on Monday, with email alerts available first thing Tuesday morning.
These alerts are conversational and to the point. Here is an example of a recent blog alert:

2. Video reminder
Frequency: 3 times a week
In late 2022, I started recording 1-minute educational videos, mainly about meta-advertising. Once I made these a part of my daily life, I decided it was important to feature them on my website.
There is now a quick video tutorial section on jonloomer.com, which I post 3 times a week. Each 1-minute video includes a short blog post and quick tips (which is more valuable than my videos you might find on social media). These are shorter than my full blog post, but very helpful.
I use blog posts to explain deep topics that require more context and information to communicate. The topics of these video posts can be conveyed in shorter ideas, although they are full of value.
If you subscribe to video alerts, I will send you an email every time I publish a new video post (usually 3 times a week). The format is similar to the blog alert example above.

3. Podcast Reminders
Frequency: 1 time per week
Pubcast is making a comeback! I started The Pubcast in 2013 to discuss business and advertising topics in a unique way. But my podcast fell victim to my need to commit to video creation.
The “old” Pubcast has an interesting backstory. It started as a casual interview format where I would often have a drink with my guests. We discuss a wide range of business topics, from entrepreneurship to advertising.
My podcast will be back in 2025. The latest version of The Pubcast is unlike what you’ll find elsewhere. I know you are very busy. No mindless chatter and dead atmosphere. The episodes are short (5-10 minutes) and get to the point.
While past years’ Pubcasts have covered many different business topics, the new version will prioritize meta advertising. These will feature reacting to the news, discussing my testing, and explaining my philosophical approach to advertising.
One episode is planned to be released weekly. Subscribe to podcast alerts below:
4. Weekly review
Frequency: 1 time per week
So at this point, you’re starting to get an idea of how much we discuss each week:
- 1 blog post
- 3 video posts
- 1 podcast episode
Maybe you want to stay on top of all the new content, but you know you’ll never be able to keep up with my emails if you get a reminder every time I post something new. A weekly review is a great option.
With the Weekly Review, I’ll send you an email every week with a log of everything I posted in the previous 7 days, including links and a short description.

5. Cornerstone Advertising Techniques
Frequency: 1 time per week
This one is a little different than the alert above. Cornerstone Advertising Tips will lay the foundation for learning, rather than receiving notifications of my latest content.
While it’s important to stay on top of everything that’s going on right now, I realize that people often miss some of the most important content I’ve ever posted. So I created a subscription that will send you my most popular and helpful posts every week for an entire year.
These are “basics” best practice guides and tutorials to help you understand how everything works.
Here are some examples:
- Common positioning mistakes advertisers make
- Meta Ad Optimization Delivery Guide
- 8 reasons why your ads aren’t converting
- Advantage+ Audience Best Practices Guide
- Get Started with Advantage+ Shopping
- Bidding strategy best practices for meta ads
- Meta Ad Manager Troubleshooting Guide
- Common Ad Setting Optimization Mistakes Advertisers Make
Unlike other subscriptions listed here, Cornerstone has a clear start and end. But delivery of this content will continue throughout the year (and possibly longer!).
Cornerstone is a great way to round out the edges of your meta-advertising knowledge. You can subscribe via the following link:
6. Complete Funnel
Frequency: ? ? ! !
Do we really want to do this? Yes. Yes, we are.
The ideal audience for The Complete Funnel might be a little crazy. You completely ignore your inbox. You want everything from me and you don’t care how often I message you. This puts you in an extreme (but beautiful) minority.
The full funnel will automatically subscribe you to everything:
- Blog reminder
- Video reminder
- Podcast reminder
- weekly review
- Cornerstone Advertising Tips
You will receive a lot of emails from me. You have no excuse at this point. If you report me for spam after voluntarily subscribing to Complete Funnels, I’ll question your intelligence.
It’s not a lifelong commitment, though. We make mistakes. If it becomes too much, you can unsubscribe from each item individually.
If you’re cool enough, you can subscribe to the full funnel below:
paid stuff
Oh yes, and this.
Everything listed above is 100% free. However, you can take your obsessive understanding of meta-advertising to another level.

Although I rarely take on clients, you can book one-to-one meeting with me. Prior to our session, you will complete a questionnaire to provide important background on what you are doing now and what you hope to accomplish. The meeting itself will be 45 minutes long and will be held via Zoom so that we can screen share if necessary.
One-on-one meetings are ideal for experienced advertisers who need a second opinion. You’re spending thousands of dollars a month on advertising (or running thousands of dollars of advertising for clients), and just one takeaway from one of these sessions can have a huge impact. These are not suitable for beginners.
