Some advertisers will see a “Boost Post” option under ad settings in Ads Manager.

This replaces the “Use existing post” option in some ad accounts.

what does that mean?

I’ve heard some people are confused because the “Use existing post” option is gone. They’ve heard everything said about how they shouldn’t “boost” posts, and they’re worried they’ll lose functionality.

Well, nothing has changed except the name. It’s unclear if this is an official change or just a test.

Honestly, when I first saw this, I thought it was a good language change. Boost is just a simple way to create a campaign using a single ad set and a single ad to promote existing posts. So I hope this helps people realize that promotion is just promotion of an existing position.

The problem is that not enough people understand what “ascension” really means.

I’ve seen enough confusion that this video was necessary. I guess you might think it would make more sense to keep the ads manager the same and change the “Boost” name on the page to “Promote Existing Post”. But it doesn’t roll off the tongue, so I get it.

If you see this option, it simply means that you will be creating an ad to promote the organic content you have created. That’s it.

The problem with traditional lifting is that it is very limited. But when used in this context, you can still perform any of the actions you would normally perform on campaigns and ad sets.
