Creative Testing Feature Questions – Jon Loomer Digital
Meta recently launched a new way to test creatives when creating or editing ads.
Overall, this is actually a good feature, but I have some issues with the way it works now.
how it works
When you click the “Set Test” button, you will be able to generate up to five copies of the current to be used in the test.
You will then need to manually edit these ads and they will be in the existing ad set. It will not contain the ads you started this test with.
question
It’s not that scary if you’re creating an ad set from scratch. In fact, this might even be a good way to approach new ad sets through testing.
But it’s even better if you can choose from existing ads, especially if you want to test the copy and creative you’re currently using. If you duplicate ads within an existing ad set, you’ll create some bad choices.
If you want to test an existing combination of ad copy and creatives, there will be duplicate ads in the same ad set. That’s messy. And you have to create them from scratch, which can lead to a lot of unnecessary work.
This feature would be better if we had the option to test existing ads. Otherwise, I’ll have a headache.
