Tracking Instagram Starts with Meta Ads
Now you can track Instagram ads. Where can you find it? Does this matter?
Please follow the simple steps below to see if there is…
Do this
1. In Ad Manager, go to the Column drop-down menu and click Custom Columns.
2. In the search bar, type Follow.
If anything, you will be able to add a column for Instagram. Then you can see how many Instagrams your ads have generated.
Does it matter?
Honestly, it’s weird that it’s been so long to add this metric. Not that this is particularly important, but it is also your core action related to your participation in Instagram ads.
If you’re wondering, I don’t know of any tests that are optimized for this metric. But this may still be the best. Historically, optimization of page likes has only produced very low-quality page likes. I wrote this back in 2012, but since then, I can’t say that there has been much change in this regard. It is easy to assume that the same is true when the following is optimized.
Not only can quality be bad, but it follows vanity metrics, which means less than ever before. Having more followers does not guarantee more influence. Now, the algorithm prefers the content itself more than the size of the audience.
No matter how you think about metrics, this is another way to measure the impact of ads. Do what you will do.
