Advantages + Shopping Schedule – Jon Loomer Digital

When will the Advantage+ shopping disappear?
You may know that the advantages + sales activities are replacing the advantages + shopping. Most, if not all, advertisers already see this in the native interface. So if you have a rep who is still recommending Advantage+ shopping, let them know to catch up.
While everyone has this right now, it’s not clear when the current advantage + shopping activity will stop working, assuming this will happen. Recent announcements to developers may have some clues…
Developer timeline
First, Meta recommends using Advantage+ audience to create “regular” campaigns during this period. Transition from Creating Advantages + Shopping Events (not possible in most cases anyway).
This fall, you won’t be able to create or update Advantage+ shopping events on API version 24. Presumably, you can still use some third-party apps to create new advantages + shopping activities now. However, you will soon lose this option, as well as the ability to edit them.
In Q1 2026, there will be a breaking change. You will no longer be able to create or update Advantage+ shopping events on all API versions.
Please note that this schedule also applies to Advantage+ App campaigns.
My assumption is that this “breakdown” change also means that any positive advantage + shopping activity will stop running, although the Meta is not clear.
What does this mean?
In theory, losing the advantage + shopping does not mean much. You can copy most of Advantage+ Shopping by using Advantage+ Sales campaigns.
Advantage+ Shopping mainly controls less control and allows algorithms to do things. But it does have some unique features and benefits. Advertisers have recently lost existing customer budget caps, which may be in the hope of such changes. Otherwise, ASC is just an ad campaign and cannot create ad sets. You can offer up to 150 creative combinations, which goes far beyond the recommendations of standard campaigns.
If you use and rely on Advantage+ shopping now, keep this in mind. A roughly similar schedule applies to native interfaces.
